Leading Investment Managers since 2002
The Vertical team focuses on structured products investment management and valuation/liquidation services through two main businesses: Vertical’s SEC-registered investment adviser, Vertical Capital, LLC (“Vertical Capital”) and it’s broker/dealer, VCAP Securities, LLC (“VCAP”).
Vertical Capital was founded in 2002 and is a manager of structured products, focused on non-Agency RMBS. In September 2009 Vertical launched the Resolution Credit Opportunity strategy which predominantly targets pre-2008 non-Agency securitized bonds to take advantage of market dislocations post housing crisis.
Vertical’s advisory/liquidation practice, operated through VCAP, was established in 2009. Vertical is a leader in providing valuation and liquidation/auction services to holders of structured products (i.e. RMBS, CMBS, ABS, CDO, CLO, and TRUPs). Vertical has acted as valuation and/or liquidation agent on more than $20 billion of structured products. Our clients are comprised of leading domestic and international legacy asset holders, broker/dealers and hedge funds.
Vertical’s senior management team includes four partners whom have worked together since 2004 and average over 20 years experience in structured finance and securitized debt investments. This senior management team comprises a highly experienced portfolio management and executive team, and they are supported by a team of credit/research analysts and a state-of-the-art proprietary technology platform.
Since inception, Vertical has committed substantial resources to develop its "STARS" (Structuring, Trading, Analytics, Reporting and Surveillance) system. This proprietary analytics and risk management system provides a substantive platform for credit analysis in the investment process as well superior ongoing risk management and surveillance capabilities. Vertical believes that its highly developed information/analytics infrastructure coupled with the depth of its team of seasoned investment professionals gives it a strategic advantage when investing in the structured products markets.
